Could someone explain something for me please?

What is the difference between an experimental and quasi experimental design? Is quasi-experimental anything where an important or influential quality of the subject being tested was not selected by the researcher?

For example, when two groups of Alzheimer's patients receive a drug vs. a control, is this a quasi-experiment or an experiment?

Thanks a lot... I've heard that quasi-experiment= queasy experiment, something that feels not quite equitable in outcome, but then again, there are a lot of examples of true experiments that evoke that feeling for me, and a lot of quasi-experiments that don't.

Ok. Thanks.

I vaguely remember this being a decent explanation...

Thanks! My iTunes overfloweth. 👍👍👍😀

I THINK is quasi experimental if the subjects are referred by doctors who gave the prescription (or not), and the experimenter wasn't the one to assign the condition... I could be wrong, someone please correct if this is not so.

this sounds a lot like a HW question, which is against forum policy.

Type quasi experimental into google and click on the first link.

Seriously - it gives a very simple and clear explanation. I glanced through it and its generally accurate.
