Reading the aamc website, it clearly says that sections of the mcat contain experimental items. But does that mean that every section of the mcat has experimental items, or just one section of one testing?? And when they say experimental items, does that mean a particularly easy passage could be an experimental, or does it just stick with connotations of being a really hard passage or a really hard discrete question?..so was wondering if anybody talkked to any aamc officials and vaguely know the true nature of experimental items.

I've been wondering about that too. Can experimental questions be a whole set of passage questions (5-7 questions) or is it just one question that pertain to a non-experimental passage and the other questions are counted in our score?

It would seem unfair that there might be whole set of experimental questions since that can significantly skew the results of our score depending on how well or how poorly we do on the other questions in that section.

I also don't understand how 1 entire passage + its corresponding 4-7 questions can be experimental. With only 52 questions in PS & BS, 4-7 questions would substantially affect scoring...
