Many secondaries have a part where it asks if there is anything else I'd like to tell the admissions committee. For the most part, I was planning on leaving this blank, or maybe throw in a generic diversity statement.

However, I've been considering discussing why I got a W in the first engineering class I took, and how I managed to stick with the curriculum despite the bad start. My sGPA is fine, so I'm not worried too much about being seen as an incompetent student. However, I do think sticking with engineering rather than returning to my earlier major took grit and courage.

Do you think I should respond the the secondary prompt of "anything else you'd like to include" with the course withdrawal story, a diversity statement, or just leave it blank?

Thanks in advance
