in minnesota's secondary I am being asked to explain the Ws in my transcript.

although I got a 20 for the Orgo on the dat, i had such a difficult time with it at school, I dropped organic I twice and took it a third time and got an A, the only reason I dropped it is because no matter how much I tried to study for it I always got Cs and Ds in my tests so I didn't want to risk getting a low grade in such an important course. I am afraid this is not a good reason to drop courses, but I don't know what to do at this point. 🙁🙁
should I go ahead and write this down as a reason or do you guys think there is a better way of putting it, I am sure someone has been in a similar situation as mine, please i need your honest opnion, I need to send this secondary ASAP

appreciate any help
good luck to you all

perhaps something happened during the semesters that u took ochem? what about workload? try to focus on how you IMPROVED. i think the reasons for the U's secondary questions is to understand more about you. for example, in this question, they are asking you how you worked to solve a problem and improved from the last time. hope that helps.

no, nothing happened in those semesters, and I wasn't working at all, I deliberately took light course loads in those semesters just to make time to study more for Ochem, but I still ended up dropping them cuz ochem was so difficult for me,🙁
but thanks for the advice you brought my attention to a good point
I wish you the best

I would just stay on the positive end and push to them the fact that you worked through it and now understand the material. I would focus on the fact that you showed determination and persistence to get through the material, mastered it, and point at your DAT score.

That seems to be the only angle I see other then flat out making something up. (which I wouldn't do btw)

I don't know about your situation, but when I took O-Chem many of my friends tried to memorize rxn's or steps instead of understanding the concepts. I think if you don't understand mechanisms in O-CHEM and instead just memorizing the rxn's, you can't get a good grade. So I recommend You to discuss your study methods. For example, you can mention that you applied different method of studying in third time and that's why you were able to get an A in your class. And you did not use the best strategy of studying for first and second time and it made you to drop the class.

I think that if you are just straight forward with them and be honest you will be OK. Adcoms understand that sometimes courses kick our butts, and by making up excuses or dancing around it, will not reflect well on you. I agree with ASAM10 in talking about how you overcame the struggle the third time.
