When medical schools request that you explain educational interruptions, are they looking for a straight-forward answer or is this revenge of the personal statement, where they want some profound insight,a proper introduction and conclusion, etc? Should I have someone proof it?

I just told them what I was doing when I wasn't in school - nothing too profound. Seems to have been satisfactory.

Like the rest of the application it should be well written, spelled correctly, grammatically correct, and stylisitically pleasing. Someone should proofread it, but that someone could probably be you.
