I get an email from randolph AFB today requesting current address and other information so that they can send me my extended active duty orders. I am in FAP and will be starting AD in July. My question is what are they referring to when they say extended and what other types of AD are there? Thanks.

Extended is right. Each year will feel like a decade.

Seriously, though, it doesn't mean anything special, it just means that you are being ordered to active duty. It is a standard form that says your life is no longer your own.

well mine says its valid for 60 months, so it will feel like 50 years? lol 😕
