I am attending medical school in the Fall and also expecting my first child in October. I do not want to defer medical school for a year. I may have the opportunity to enroll in an extended 3-year curriculum. Has anyone else had experience with an extended curriculum? Does this affect how residencies view you? Do you take Step1 after the 3rd-year? Any help would be appreciated because I will need to decide what I would like to do in the Fall ASAP.
