Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has ever requested or received an extention on their deposit deadlines after being accepted to a particular school. My current situation is that I have applied to two schools, and both have their pros and cons and at this point, having only visited one of them so far, I don't have a clue as to which I will ultimately choose (assuming I have a choice). My interview at the second school is exactly 2 weeks after the deposit deadline for the first school, and being that it is so close, I was hoping that I could hold off on making any deposits until I have a better idea about both schools (Especially since the deposits are nonrefundable).
Anyway, if anyone has any information on the possibility of an extention, and how they went about requesting one without making it sound like the school is their second choice, please let me know!

Thanks

i requested an extension for OSU because i was stuck deciding between OSU and IU. i emailed the woman who welcomed me and gave us the low down on OSU when we got there. she may be the director of admissions, i'm not sure. i just e-mailed and told them my dilemma and it was no big deal at all.

hope this helps!

where are you deciding between?

OSU has a refundable deposit, and they tell you they would rather you ask for an extension than deal with refunding it. Pacific University gave me an entire extra month to decide, and this WAS a non-refundable deposit. Just ask---if they give you a hard time, maybe they aren't the school for you.
