extension schools

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Extension schools can be very different from one another. Harvard's offeres top notch academics and is a great place to take classes in preparation for dental school. Cornell's offers classes like how to compost and has a ton of services/education for farmers.

What do you mean by "extension school"? Berkeley has a post-bac program called UCB Extension. If it is a post-bac program, then I'm pretty sure d-schools allow that.

i always thought ''extension schools'' were simply organized post bacc programs?

but in any case OP, i'm sure extension school classes would be solid as long as you do well in them.

They have the option of distance education or online learning and I was wondering if that was allowed? It would really help while I have my full time job and do my lectures and assignments according to that schedule

Thanks for the help!

I think shes talking about online-courses known as distance education. It will definitely be accounted for in your AADSAS application towards your GPA. I don't know whether or not dental schools would frown on it or not. I know the CC I work at offers long distance education for Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2.

The general consensus is that schools will often not weigh online courses as heavily as irl courses. You also gotta report on AADSAS whether the class you took is online or not. I know that at UCB Extension, the courses are usually in the evening (6-9 pm) to be geared towards individuals also working full time.

I don't live in that area so I've been searching for classes online. Financially, I'm able to afford the online classes..I'm just confused as to whether dental schools will look down upon it

If it's not mentioned on your transcripts that they are online classes, and you don't have to list them as such when you submit transcripts to the AADSAS, what's the difference?
