To current OT students,

What would you say on average the amount of money you spend per month on food?
How much would you spend per semester on book?

Both of your questions are going to be totally different for everyone and at different schools.
But expect to pay $200-400 in books per quarter and around $200/month on food.

It really depends individually. I go to a weekend program and have time to work part-time, so I have a little extra money. But I'd create a budget for yourself. Consider these things:
Rent. On/off campus? Living with parents/family?
Health insurance. We must have health insurance for fieldwork. Are you still covered under your parents, a spouse, the school, your job, etc.?
Commuting. Car expenses? Train/bus/other transportation costs.
Food. If you are buying your own food, look into farmer's markets or farmshares in the area, which can get you cheaper healthy food, like fresh fruits and vegetables.
Books. Amazon is a great source for used books and are often cheaper than other textbook sites, by the way. Also get Amazon Prime.
Extras, such as going out, clothing, and other surprise expenses.
