With a limit of only 15 entries allowed, between paid work, school activities, and volunteering, what kinds of ECs are you guys listing? I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to include everything that is important and pertinent without overcrowding it. 😱

Also, I am currently working on a patent idea, but it is not finished and will not be for some time, should this be included in the app even though it is not finished?

I would greatly appreciate any input on what types of activities you guys are putting in your apps versus what you feel was not important enough to include...

i'm definitely putting anything medically related and all volunteer work (if you have to pick, pick those that you felt you got the most from or helped the most). additionally, anything "big" such as a patent or published research should definitely go in. i don't think it'll be too hard to figure out what would look best to the adcoms and will give you the most to talk about in an interview.

p.s. maybe a spelling class? :meanie: (sorry, couldn't resist- i hate how you can't go back and edit the titles when you make a typo haha)

I think you have to prioritize your activities. 15 is quite a lot. For me:

Habitat for Humanity
Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort
Student Government/Campus Activities
Orientation Leader
HUP Volunteer
Doctor Shadowing
Clinical Research (hopefully)
FYE
Admissions Representative
Some random work, but isn't there a section for employment?

I only had one.

Yea yea.....I saw that right after I hit submit :hardy:

What do you mean "had"? Have you been accepted somewhere?

seeing as how his/her status says 'Medical Student' I'd say he/she got into a med school.
