I'm studying right now for the test and the thing is that I am really feeling like I am not absorbing any of the material. What's wrong with me? I am trying to memorize reactions but it almost seems like I am doing just that (memorizing them), not understanding them. How do I know if I am doing good? I mean I could take a practice test but the thing is, I'll be wasting a practice test won't I?

THIS IS NOT GOOD. 😡

i felt like the entire science portion of the DAT was memorization...you'll def do well in bio by memorizing the facts...i would say orgo is also a lot of memorization...for gen chem you need to memorize what formula to use then it's just plug and chug...a little more application than the other 2 sciences...math and PAT are def application..and reading comp you can't really study for...but for me memorizing was good enough for the sciences

For me, I try not to rely so much on memorization since my memory is a bit faulty especially under timed conditions. I don't know how exactly, but try not to memorize so much. I'm almost done with 1/3rd of Orgo and although it has taken me a long time, I can say I've mastered whatever I've learned so far. Make sure you actually understand what you're reading at the moment so you don't have to review so much.
