i am sushila from india.i have just joined my mph at usm on F1.now i want to leave mph after first semester and study a lot for nbde .fee per semester for mph is $5000,so i am thinking that if i can join some kaplan course it will 1.maitain my F1 status 2.perhaps it will be economical for me(how much are the fee per year in kaplan) 3.i will find more time for my studies.
BUT i don't know whether i can get permission of this change on the same visa? for how long i can remain in kaplan(at present i am having 5 years F1)
thanks

Hi greatdentist,greatdentist said:hi sushila,
i have just transfered to kaplan and before that i did mha for 1 semester. here are you r answers-
1. yes it will maintain your f-1 status, just u have to enroll for atleast 6 months,
2. it is definately more economical, the fees for part 1 and part 2 separate, which are both of 6 months each is $1000 each, but if u take a combo course of part 1 & 2 together, which is of 1 year, its fees is $1700.
3. u will definately find more time than doing mph and also save a lot of money.
ok, do tell me if you need any other information
Thanks for the informationgreatdentist said:hi simpl....,
ya its compulsory to complete one semester in the university on which u got the visa, its the new INS rule.
hi molarismolaris said:hi sushila,
u can always tranfer to kaplan course without any hurdles.
Only thing u have to do is after completing one semester in your university go to your international advisor with the transfer form (given by kaplan people) get it signed.
Thn the tranfer form is to be faxed to kaplan office where they will issue a new I 20.My advisor didnt ask me any question but he himself faxed to kaplan office.
one can always take tranfer on same visa, its allowed.
good luck

thanks for the information.
it means there is no interview etc with INS OR USCIS(something like this) when we change our prorams or univ. remaining in the same visa type,i mean i can tranfer to DDS or Dental Hygiene or any other course without any interview etc.
sorry i may seem very underinformed becose i am new to this site n new in usa
thanks
