F1 student Visa questions

Can anyone advise regarding this.
I want to know do we(dental students) have to write a letter explaining non-immigration intent while sending application for F1 visa when DDS itself means that we are gonna practice as a dentist in US?
Coz I was looking for my university's international office website , they have mentioned it in the list of documents submitted to get an I 20... But only thing is this info is not specific for School of dentistry rather whole university which includes international students in other streams of education.

DDS doesn't automatically means you will stay in the country and work as a dentist. Maybe you just came to obtain education in this country and come back home. SOme people can get better jobs in their home countries if they completed their education in the US, so again DDS doesn't mean you intend to stay in the US and work as a dentist here.

Quite a contradiction there for the F1, how to explain something that is different from your intent? Can't you just 'skip' this, is it mandatory to have this sort of letter to get this tipe of visa?

I guess there might be some people on SDN that have been through this, and will be able to advise properly.

Second it! DDS does not mean you are going to stay in US though it is quite obvious that you will, after racking up debt of 150 K or more. When you apply for a F1 visa it just means that you want to get a higher education in US.That's it. On a different note, I hope you are aware that you can study on H4 too.I don't think it is compulsory to change your visa to F1.

I know that one can study on H4 but after 2 yrs you cannot work on h4 . By getting a student visa one gets 24 months OPT time to work as as a dentist until you get your own work visa eg H1. That's why I want to get the F1.
