I interviewed at my top choice in November.
Yesterday I received an invitation to a faculty dinner from them.

What's a faculty dinner?
I suspect it's part of the evaluation process, is it really a second interview? They didn't call it that but what else can it be?
Are they formal or casual?
Any insight will be appreciated.

i have never heard such a thing. not that this is a helpful answer, but i just didnt want you to think we were all ignoring you 🙂

Thank you for taking the time.

The email says: dinner with the faculty and residents.
We were treated to lunch at a very snazzy restaurant on interview day and the dinner will also be there.

This sounds like one of those situations where you should really just pick up the phone and call the program coordinator/administrative asst/whoever and ask your questions directly.
Don't be shy about asking questions--it's not a part of the "game".
It sounds like they want you to have more contact with the program.

Wise advice.
Will keep it in mind, or try too

I called the PC and they are not telling anything, except they will send me a selection menu in a few days.

I really don't want to be considered too pushy/demanding, cause it can have undesirable effects.

I'm sure the dinner can only be a good thing...Just my two cents--relax, chill and enjoy the free diner! Best of luck.
