Ok, going through my FAFSA form tonight, I am planning on going to a post- bacc pre- med program, I have a non-science undergrad degree. I am not sure yet what school I am going to, but I was wondering if I would file as a fifth year undergrad, or as a first year graduate? thanks!

It depends on the program you end up going to. I had this problem because I applied to the Drexel IMS program, and they suggest filing the FAFSA by May 1, even if an admission decision has not been made. I then called the FAFSA hotline. They told me to file for the Drexel program, as a first year grad student. If I didn't get into Drexel or decided to go to another program that was at the undergraduate level, the status of your fin aid application can be easily changed online with the FAFSA revision form.

I agree. I did a post-bacc where I took all the undergrad science courses, and filed mine as an undergrad. I think there is something in FAFSA that says you can get up to 1 year of Stafford assistance for this type of program. Of course, I was coming off a high paying job, so my need was 0. You might be able to get more with a higher need.

thanks guys your advice helped alot!! 😀
