Seeing as no one has chimed in yet, I'll drop my 2 cents.

Some schools send information on what financial forms to submit not only to accepted applicants, but to wait listed applicants as well (some schools even send it to everyone interviewed before their decisions are released!). If you received this information, go ahead and fill out the forms they mention. If you haven't received it, do as you were planning to do and fill out FAFSA listing all the schools you're interested in. As you well know, you'll have to submit FAFSA no matter where you go.

Regarding housing: typically, you can rent something for the next academic year around June; I wouldn't worry about that just yet - see where you get in first ;) It's also a good idea to check out housing options during Second Look; at least some schools invite wait listed applicants to their Second Looks.

Good luck!
