Fafsa list of schools

the list of lschools that we designate on our fafsa; is that part of the application sent to the schools also (i.e., schools find out what other schools you've applied to through your fafsa application) or is that list for fafsa office use only; i tried searching sdn but couldn't find much on this specific topic
