It's been a minute since I filled out the FAFSA but I believe there's a section that you can check off to ignore putting anything related to your parents on the FAFSA. Merit based scholarships are not need based.

You are free to leave parental information off as the federal government does not require it for MD program-level loans (as a student who is classified as independent), but I have yet to encounter a school that will award you any institutional aid without that information.
