You need to estimate 2009 - surely your parents could provide you with their basic info...

Of course, if for them '09 looks just like '08, probably no harm in using '08 as the starting point.

So I recently filled out my fafsa and had it processed. Do I now have to contact the medical schools to determine how much aid/loans I'll be receiving? I tried to log in to my online fafsa but it doesn't say anything about the amount of loans approved.

So if you estimate, do you go back in and change it once taxes have been done? Referring to both individual and parents info.

any know if i should still fill out a fafsa now if i havent been accepted anywhere yet, or should i wait?

Yes, according to this quote

When you fill out the FAFSA in January, be sure to complete the one for 2010-2011 so that the school gets the info. In general it is good to complete it with actual asset info and estimated tax info early, allowing you to sort of save your place in line at the financial aid office. Then you go back and correct the FAFSA to reflect your precise tax return numbers once you have completed the return for the 2009 tax year.

It sounds like she knows what she's talking about and it makes sense.

Well, for the FAFSA you would be applying as an independent anyway, so yo don't need to provide parental information. One of the things that determines your status on the FAFSA worksheet is if you'll be wourking on a graduate degree, including MD. Or did I not understand this correctly?

No, check out the linked thread above. Seems most MD schools look at parental info for need based scholarships and such.
