Took cardiology boards in Oct, 2010. Got an email form ABIM over the weekend that I can check the Pass Fail status. Checked it and I have failed!!
I donot have a score report yet so donot know what went wrong. I studied quite hard for the boards and actually thought the exam went well. Trained at a top university cardiology program and have never failed an exam in my life. Infact have always scored very highly. Anyone else with similar experience??? This is making me question the validity of the ABIM cardiology exam. The worst part is I donot know how I would study differently if I took it again since I already did everything this time???

score reports should be on the way if not already arrived.

Most common reason for failing the cards boards is failing the EKG section. Must pass the EKG section independently from the MCQ/Imaging sections. Fail EKG's and it didn't matter how much you knew with everything else. If that was the case for you, just go through O'Keefe's EKG book 2 or 3 times before the exam... More comprehensive than you need, but definitely keys in on all the focused ECG topics of the board exam.
