Hi, I failed my Comlex CE. I got 391. I took a month off to study for it, and I still did not pass the test.

My study plan before was:
1. Do the questions for each system (cardio, pulmonary) from Combank
2. Review the questions, took notes
3. Use the review book for the section (review books are Board and Ward and the Secrets book)
4. Redo the questions from Combank
5. Did 2 practice test from the Comquest website - though I must admit, I was in the rush and did not review these thoroughly

Any advice is very appreciated.

Was there a particular section that you had problems with on the score report?
Did you use Savarese to study for OMM?

I feel your pain. I found out yesterday I failed the step 2 CE as well (278, after getting a 470 on step 1). My study plan was reading Boards and Wards twice and doing all of the COMBANK questions for step 2. I reviewed the high yield points of Savarese a week to 2 weeks before my exam, but not as intensely as I did for step 1. My plan was similar to my plan for step 1, which I passed comfortably (reading First Aid for Step 1 cover to cover twice, doing all of COMBANK, and reading Savarese cover to cover). Any help would be appreciated too.

I am thinking of reading Step 2 Secrets cover to cover once, doing the COMQUEST Q bank in its entirety, doing all of the practice COMLEX questions in the back of Savarese, reviewing the high yield stuff in Savarese, and doing a COMSAE practice half exam before all of this tomorrow (Sunday). And when should I re-register to take this exam with interview season coming up. A month from now? Later?

I through out a lot there, but basically in the same boat as the original thread poster. Any help would be appreciated...

I just found out I got a 392, so I am feeling the pain as well. Although my mistake was doing Combank once and FA once. Not enough. Good luck to all else in this situation.

You might want to do a search for last year's thread. When they changed the exam quite a few folks were in your shoes - having done well on level 1, they failed level 2. Some more than once. There were some of us who had actually done *better* on the new level 2 exam who put our thoughts in that thread (which would probably be more appropriate and accurate than my trying to remember what I did a year later). Personally I did a review course for comlex 2 - I did BBC, others did other comlex review courses some with quite good results.

Good luck to y'all.

Hi, I think you should do a boards review course which will give you direction on what to study. Whatever you do, pass the test on the 2nd try. Not sure about your school, but mine had the 3rd fail then your kicked out! PM me if you have questions since I went through what you did.
