Is it possible that I can delay release of my COMLEX 2 scores? Or can I still apply to programs and release my COMLEX 2 scores later? I have not sent my ERAS yet and I'm applying to Internal Medicine programs (community only). I'm scheduled to retake it in 3 weeks and I know I can pass. I shouldn't have taken it so early, I scheduled too many exams at once and my COMLEX 2 score sufferred.

You can delay the score as long you want from the ERAS standpoint. You have to officially request a transcript and give them permission to distribute to the programs. Are you planning a retake of CK anytime soon? You can always send in your ERAS with your other stuff uploaded by your Deans office, but some of the more competitive programs may not give you an interview till you redo it. Also you must also remember many programs only need step 1.

I disagree. Programs want to see scores. That's part of how they decide who to interview. I would apply as early as possible to middle and lower tiers.

MOST programs offer interviews with just the Step 1 scores, so I would highly recommend not releasing the COMLEX 2 till you pass, although I do not know if you can release just the Step 1 score on ERAS.

There are some programs that want you to have passed Step 2 before interviewing & others that want it done before they rank you (Feb-ish).

I would research the programs you are interested in applying to but if they want a release I would probably count those programs out.

Also if you are applying allo then there is no need to release the COMLEX at all, just the USMLE. If it comes up during interview you can tell them that you have (hopefully) passed both steps & are hence OK to graduate and that's all that the programs will care about.

Good luck.

Many people in my class actually waited until after they started to interview to do Step 2. If your program doesnt require it and most dont, then dont rush in until you think you are ready
