Failed CS

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I originally did not have ERAS automatically send any new usmle scores. But after step 2 ck went ok for me, I retransmitted my USMLE scores after taking CK. Does that mean, after I take CS next month, those will automatically be transmitted? Or would I have to opt to retransmit them again?

I had a dream last night that I failed CS. I woke up this morning and found it was true. I was told if you were American and speak English you pass, guess not. I have a competitive application otherwise and have top tier interviews in a competitive specialty. Fortunately I didn't automatically release the scores. I plan to take it again as soon as possible but have a few questions.

Do interviewers typically ask how you did on step 2 if you didn't resubmit the transcript? (obviously I won't lie)

Are we required to eventually release USMLE transcripts to residency programs after the match and if so will not telling the place I match upfront be a problem?

Any advice will be appreciated.
I am sorry you didn't pass. Our dean told us that in order for him to certify us for the match, we must pass ck and cs... not sure how true that is since i've heard of people at other schools taking step 2 AFTER the match. He also told us that every program in CA will need your step 2 ck in order to rank you.

On an unrelated note, I absolutely f'ing hated when upperclassmates told us that line "if you were American and speak English you pass" Yes, the test is not step 1 caliber exam, but you still have to know your stuff and be able to perform under pressure in what is a VERY long day. My advice for anyone reading this who hasn't taken cs, take it very seriously, study what sort of history you need to take for all the possible cases and practice. I mean, you are a crap load of $ for this stupid test.

I'm taking it again this Thursday. I had to cancel an interview and fly across the country but it's worth it to hopefully have a passing score before most of my interviews on Dec 7. Luckily I have the week off and have already studied and practiced way more than I did the first time.

The first time I easily passed the data gathering and note writing but failed the CIS. The average of the three sections put me right in the middle of the borderline bar so I must have been close. My poorest section was the questioning skills section. I think I asked the same question more than once, and I don't remember how many times I summarized or used transitional statements. I also tend to use lead in questions like "you don't use any illegal drugs do you?" instead of "have you every used illegal drugs?" What exactly are facilitating statements? My practice cases have been going well, and I feel much better about my ability to pass this time. Hopefully at least one radiology program won't care too much if it takes two times to pass.

Good Luck
