anyone actually get in to pharmacy school with an F on their transcipt?

my chem professor said if u fail your automatically done.

im so lost right now. might just change majors

your professor doesn't know what he is talking about. First of all... if you fail a course... especially a pre-pharm course you can retake it and you're previous grade wont show on the pre-pharm list (for all the schools I had applied to that is how it worked), but of course the F will be calculated into your PHARMCAS GPA.... I failed an english course (and re-took it later) and I have gotten in to 2 out of 3 pharmacy schools so far. Don't go off of what other people tell you, do your own research. GOOD LUCK retaking the course... and good luck applying to pharmacy school. One bad grade isn't going to harm you.

Take it again and get an A. Once you get your A, you may gain forgiveness. It's always doable. It's just a question of how much you want it.

if you got an F cuz it was too hard for you than yah you might want to consider other careers cuz you'll be in for a huge surprise when you come to take difficult upper division courses and such but if the F is due to other unforseen minor circumstances then its no big deal if you retake it again. its life stuff happens.

and if you're failing a class by the withdrawal date, then for god's sake withdraw from it. The material always gets harder with time in a science class, so don't make the same mistake. A W is 10 times better than an F.

Unless your pharmacy professor somehow knows the ins and outs of pharmacy school admission, I'm guessing that his opinion is worth about the same as ours. Heck, at least we can attest to some experience.

It is at least vital that you retake the course and the take the necessary steps to get an A or at least a B. Based on testimonials in this forum (and do note that these are just stories), Fs are not the kiss of death unless you show that you can't do any better.

it happens, just make sure it dosnt happen alot like 3 or more times. retake retake retake and pass it. start taking ur classes more seriously and sure pharm. micorbio is much harder when ur in pharmacy school but u learn from ur mistakes and try harder. u shouldnt change majors bc of one F whats wrong with u?? anyways gluck

definitely NOT...

a friend of mine failed micro and got into pretty much all CA schools...she's currently attending UCSF.

i failed biochem...and got accepted to Western.

so i think as long as you don't fail more than 2-3, and when u retake these classes do a lot better...you should be fine 😀

A "F" in Jurtshuks class may be a "kiss of death" for UHCOP. It's not that hard, and the UH admins know it. But retake it, and study this time. You still have a shot at other schools.

It sounds like your Chem teacher is blowing wind. Unless they were accepted to a program they should not know this. Everytime I hear someone mention a reason that you can't get into a profession it just motivates me to prove them wrong.
You should take Cell Bio to prep up for your rematch with Micro then kick some arse.
