unfortunately I was unable to pass STEP 1 on my first try and I just got an email about an involuntary LOA due to the first board score attempt. I am currently prepping for a retake.
To preface, I am an MS3 whose med school has a shortened pre clinical curriculum, had no problems with pre clinical didactics/no remediation, and have completed DCC/BOLC. I am currently on clinical rotations(current on surgical rotations, will be on primary care in Sept-December) , as my curriculum does not require a pass on boards to move forward to wards.
I know the HPSP office is allowing for waivers as long as the Dean of Student Affairs of my program writes something on my behalf to vouch for my continued status on the program. What else can be done on my end? I definitely don't want to be put on an LOA, since that would make paying rent and living expenses incredibly difficult.
