Ok so here's my dilemma: we just got our first quiz back in chem 201. I got a 44 out of 80 🙁 I've gotten a 100 on all the homework assignments and have done all the extra credit assignments so far. The problem is without extra credit factored in I have to get at least a 95 on every test/quiz and at least a 90 on the final to get an 88 in the class. Personally I was hoping for an A in this class as my GPA is only a 3.5 something right now.
I could drop the class and take it next semester but I'm a junior hoping to take the MCAT in April and I'm going to need concepts from this class for the MCAT. I'm pretty sure the problem is I'm taking 15 credit hours of straight science courses, plus 3 credit hours of research (about 30 hours a week) and Im in Marching Band (about 20 hours a week).
If I drop that class and move it to next semester would it be too much paired with anatomy 2, genetics, a psych course, research and MCAT prep?? I could drop one of my minors which would give me more room to move my classes around but I don't really want to. The other option is to take genetics over the summer but I was hoping to dedicate that to working and doing secondaries.
Advice? (sorry the post is long)

You don't need Quantitative Chemistry for the MCAT. The MCAT doesn't test above Organic Chemistry. Second, you have too many extracurricular activities with a low uGPA. If you intend to get into medical school, you can drop the marching band and the research and concentrate on doing well in the courses that you have.

Taking on loads of "stuff" is meaningless if your uGPA is not competitive (3.5 is not competitive). You are not going to be able to get a thorough prep done for the MCAT unless you first, do well (no grade less than B+ and not too many of those) in your coursework and drop the social stuff. Research isn't going to help you much with a low uGPA. You are not doing well enough with your courseload to be add extra science courses. You need to spread these things out and work for excellence.

If you want to salvage this class, you need to be spending some quality time with your instructor plotting a strategy for mastery of this material. If medicine is your goal, then focus on reaching it. How important is marching band going to be if it knocks you out of admission to medical school?

You have a string of things here that you are not doing very well especially your academics. Get your academics under control or you will be sending in secondary fees with no hope of getting an acceptance.
