Great post. I know plenty of successful DOs from where I live. We will succeed as well!!

For everyone who's interested, here is the rest of the article from buzzfeed where this list comes from. It's a very good read and I definitely advise you to send it to those friends and family who ask you questions like: "after you finish your D.O. degree will you go to medical school?"
or this gem: "after you graduate can you change your D.O. degree to an M.D.?" (I swear to Zeus, my dad asked me this yesterday)

Calabrese gave the keynote at my graduation. Pretty good speaker; seems like a nice guy. Interesting list.

Sure, a DO can win "Big Brother", but if you are gunning for something like "The Bachelor," then it would be easier to shoot for an MD.
LOL I just look up Will Kirby. He sure is a hot dermatologist. He has the look, the brain, and the money. This guy can win "The Bachelor" too.

Add Superman DO to this list in a few years. 😎

False.

All the hotties go to DMU

Where's the evidence? People on SDN said NYCOM and NSU have the hottest people. Let me go check the DMU Facebook class page for the past 2 years. I'll be back to give me comments in a little bit...

I'm sorry, Touch. I reserve my opinion that NSU, where I'm heading, has hotter students. Almost all the girls at DMU have their Facebook profile pictures with a guy nearby. DMU seriously lacks single good-looking girls. If you are a single girl, you may be lucky as there are a few decent looking guys at DMU.

I wasn't talking about relationship status I was talked about hotness level. Nice goalpost shift

That too. I mean NSU is hotter overall.

Seriously that's just my personal opinion and everyone has his/her own preference. Don't take it seriously LOL.

Samuel M Galvagno Jr. MS, D.O., Ph.D. - Air Force Major and fighter pilot, Ivy League residency and fellowship (Harvard and Hopkins), PhD in Biostatistics from Hopkins, director of Neurocritical care at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Shock Trauma, A lot of research and publications including NEJM, Director of Critical Care Air Transport Team Operations for the 943rd Areospace Medicine Squadron, teaches ACLS, FCCS, ATLS,"Top Docs" of Maryland, consistently named "teacher of the year" by residents and fellows, etc... the list goes on and on and on...
I know this guy personally and he is the nicest guy and very good at what he does... I call him Superman! He is definitely someone I use as a role model.

That's awesome! He sounds like a cool guy. I hope my fiancee or I run into him one day. She's going to try to do CCATT next year.

Is there anyone who pulled off a DO and an MD?

Jim Redundant, D.O., M.D.

Some people have bought international MD degrees for the purpose of hiding the DO, but the law was then established to prevent people from using the MD if that wasn't the route that gave them a medical license. Other MD, DO include people that do the nyit immigrant physician program.

I've encountered 3 so far for the reasons the person above me mentioned. Usually, the MD is from a foreign country. I don't know if it's possibly anymore, but the transferring of credits and paying for the MD was possible. I haven't heard of anyone that did US MD and then DO.

I've actually met Dr Anderson, he's an amazing guy and truly cares about helping future D.O.'s!

I am by no means saying I am a fan but that guy sure had made a name for himself. And a profit. And a cult following.

Talk about distinguishing oneself. Wow.

Other MD, DO include people that do the nyit immigrant physician program.

If they have a foreign MD that they weren't allowed to practice with, to the point where they were required to get a DO, why do they still carry an MD behind their name? Isn't that like saying, "hey check out this degree I have, not that I'm even allowed to use it in the US"?

Not that I think it matters at that point anyways, but it just seems stupid.

Some people care about perceived status.
