I must be ******ed because I can't find the applications for 2006. +pissed+ I called some lady today and she told me "they're online". 🙄 So, I thought "okay, maybe I didn't check hard enough". But no, they're not online. Unless they're hidden somewhere.
Also does anyone know about tuition? I also asked the lady, "it's online".

That school is out of control. I applied there last year and no one knew anything! They never cashed my application check either. And it was like December of last year before they finally updated the online application from the year before. Good luck with that!

This could possibly be one of the worst schools for having things under control. The first time I applied there they magically lost my transcipts and denied me based on that. During 2004-2005 I applied again and had everything that I sent request a signature. I sent out my stuff in January and got a denial letter on August 5, 2005 excellent turn around! The school's records department as well as where all of the applications come in is run by students. No organization at all papers everywhere truthfully. Although the school is in the paper all the time in Florida for sitting on tuition money and making false job posistions to get grants the education is top notch. My friend is a p3 and really enjoys it. It's just the initial process that you have to go through to get in. Oh well I got in to an accelerated program so I will be done faster anyway. Can't beat that. 👍

I found out during rotation meetings, that the other Florida schools - UF, Nova & PBA have all moved to a statewide rotation grading scale. This will keep all things equal throughout the pharmacy schools. FAMU is not participating. This does not look good for them. Don't they feel like they can compete with the other schools in the state?

We had a guest teacher today from FAMU. She graduated 2 years ago and was asking us pharmacotherapy questions. She made several mistakes and we had to correct her. I was not impressed.

If I were you, I'd apply elsewhere.

I've also came into contact with a FAMU grad doing a school project and she was clueless. The pharmacist I worked with said he hired someone about a year ago from FAMU that did not know much about the major classes of drugs. He said that she wouldn't even counsel pt's b/c she didn't know the drugs/interactions. Needless to say she wasn't there very long. Of course, I'm sure all the students that come out of there are not like that. I know there students like that everywhere and I'm sure we have a few at my school that will probably be like that when they graduate. It's just my contact with FAM grads has been more negative than positive. They don't really come across very well.

I'm appalled at information being spread about FAMU's COPPS. The only thing I agree with is that for people applying to the school that aren't already in the 6 year program it is a hassle, but the other info. from my opinion is wrong. My sister is a FAMU Pharmacy Alumni. There is nothing wrong with their rotations and they expect nothing but the BEST. This whole mentality of because it's a HBCU = easy teachers, easy grades are not true. A lot of people end up dropping out and switching majors because they couldn't hack it, but the ones who graduated earned that degree.

Also that comment about the teacher getting all her info wrong. If so she is not the norm. and does not need to be a representive of the school. Your attitude about "competing" and who's "better" is childish and shows insecurity, like you have something to prove. It's your experience and you don't attend the school. Pharm. Students here sleep, eat, and breath pharmacy and they are usually some of the brightest at the school. Also in an another post you commented on how the classes don't go into depth like your school's does. Trust me these classes go farrrrr into depth, too far sometimes if you ask me and I myself am I P2 at FAMU so I would know.

Yeah...we all think it's a horrible program because it's a black school. Give me a break

Well I haven't seen any other schools dogged like this in this forum continuously and oh yeah I'm white, I'm just stating what I know about the school and I mean second year pharmacy student when I said P2.

Unless you're a pre-professional student there, I wouldn't even bother applying at that school; they mostly take students from their two year program.

Good luck.

Hey MYTdwade3...This person that I quoted attends another "HBCU" as you call it that is clearly not inept like your admissions department.
