Yuki I think I met your sister up there when I had my interview. I talked to her after my interview and told her how bad it was and whatnot and she said she not to worry and that she cried after hers. Made me feel a lot better. Then she said she had a little sister that was getting interviewed for fall 09. Ask her if she knows eric saw, he is my gfs cousin and he should be in her class. I am almost 100% sure she will know him. LOL What are the chances? Small world. Congrats all here so far.

10 steps to getting in to the school.
1) do the prereqs. available on the website, gen chem, orgo, etc
2)get As and Bs in the prereqs
3) volunteer at a hosp or try to get into a pharmacy somehow to work or shadow.
4) Do a couple University clubs etc, to give you something to talk about in the app/interview
5) take the pcat
6) Do the application from the website, yours would be due feb 1st 2010
7) relax and drink lemonade while you wait for a letter in the mail.
8) recieve an interview letter, and dress up and drive to tally to get interviewed.
9) get interviewed, then go home feeling like you bombed it so bad.
10) repeat step 7
at least thats what i did.

I also got accepted to South University but Famu was definately my first choice.

wow...what a small world????...I dont know any of my sister's classmate who had sister getting interviewed for fall 09....if there is not any...then...I'm sure that's my sister...she knows Eric ..fairly well..eheheh..so i guess i will see u up there soon...congratulation to u again!!!
I know Eric =-). And just so you know, I'm 99% sure that all incoming classes starting with the incoming class of 2010 are going to have to start taking the PCAT for admission into FAMU Pharmacy School.

I am a high school senior.. I want to become Pharmacists ..i have applied to FAMU and got accepted into 6 years of phamracy prgoram.. I want to know is it easy to get in their phamracy program as TRANSFER STUDENT?
I am planing to stay in Tampa for my 2 yrs of undergrauate and then planing to transfer to FAMU?? and also does anyone know if they going to require PCAT soon?? Does anyone took PCAT as transfer student??🙂

Please take my advice and do the 6 year Pharmacy program at FAMU. It is not easy getting in as a transfer student...trust me.

Famu in the fall also.
Did you guys fax your form and mail the originals already? Call to confirm that they received the fax?
Do the program, I probably would have if i knew about it. Then again, USF is opening a pharm school in 2010 so you would be good for that if you want to stay in tampa.

I GOT IN!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! But i did hear of some cheap apartments 4 minutes away from the school called Adams Point. Its really nice. I stayed there with a friend when i went up there for the interview.

Congrats 2 u Ms.Lorna...I am a Transfer from Atlanta. I have been doing my research and i read reviews about Adams Point and ppl say it gets really bad and unsafe in that area at night. But I'm not sure how true it is..there are other great apts around. Check out Villa Del Lago, Venetian Villas Apts, and Gateway at Seminole Suites!! Washer/Dryers, Cable, Internet and all Utilites included in the rent..google it and check it out!! Hope to see you in the fall!! 🙂🙂🙂
Yeah 2011 is correct I read an article a while back and couldnt remember if it was 10 or 11. Either way people starting school now would be a shoe in if they did 3 years at USF with prereqs.
It will be competitive I assure you. So many people in my classes are doing prepharm here at USF and im sure more will then because they know the school is opening with very minimal spots.

Haha, I just changed it as a celebratory thing for getting in famu 09. everyone says its hard to transfer, so I guess Im just lucky. Im am finishing up my 3rd year at USF, I did more than just pre-reqs which probably helped me get in. I would try to minor in a foreign language because it shows you want to broaden your skills to more people who wouldnt otherwise be able to communicate.
To suppliment the prereqs I also did
Intro to public health
Medical terminology
Human Disease
US health Care
Analytical Chemistry
Cell biology
Spanish 1-4 not as a requirement, totally my choice (requirement already met from high school)
maybe a few more classes I cant think of now.

Have you found a place to live yet? Have you heard anything else from the college about orientation? Are they supposed to send us information or anything? I would hope they would tell us something about tuition and fees before orientation. Don't you think?
