So each of us has had certain standard "don't"s drilled into our heads from the first day that we decided to embark on this path of madness:
-Don't say or imply that med school was/is your first choice. If it's absolutely necessary to mention it, be prepared to discuss why you've firmly changed your mind.
-Don't use e-mail addresses that make you seem ditzy/addicted/perpetually inebriated/etc.
-Don't use one of the standard cliches for your personal statement topic, unless you can make it part of a unique story.
Now, what are your favorite lesser-known "don't"s?
I can only think of one at the moment:
-When attending interviews, don't be rude to the security guard/parking lot attendant/receptionist/etc. Faculty members do speak with them about potential candidates.
