I incidentally listed to Ashton Kutcher's teen choice award speech on NPR before my MCAT. Totally on accident, but it put me in a good mood. It's a great speech and I did really well on the MCAT.

Not a song but... if you need a good relaxing laugh, I give you this: (don't say I never gave you anything)

Woah, how did I miss this thread when it first rolled around?

For pumping up:
We are the Champions - Queen
My Shot - Hamilton Soundtrack ("I'm not throwing away my shot!" What better motivation?)
Definitely agree with Eye of the Tiger as well

So apparently you're supposed to listen to a song with a lot of bass to boost confidence before a big event/exam. That said, I listened to trap music 100% of the time lmao my go to was OG Bobby Johnson x QUE

Before interviews, I listened to Uber Everywhere x Madeintyo. Worked well so far

How about "kids" and "time to pretend" by MGMT?

Also, "heartbeat" and "bonfire" by childish gambino are amazing

I listen to a lot of non-lyrics OST from anime, I feel like a singer's voice distracts me from concentrating.
I just head onto YouTube and there's plenty of channels that upload anime OST.

Try HOVERBOOTS. There are no lyrics and it's on the NCS channel on youtube with free download.

Same, but anime OSTs are great for workouts too! Initial D Eurobeat songs are FIRE! :headphone::headphone::headphone:

I work out with them too! Battle music gets me hyped up.
Been watching anime since I was 8, so my playlist is full of anime songs.

Aphex Twin-Window Licker

Only listen if you have robot ears and please someone get this reference.

My secret weapon is : the lion speech by Christopher walken from the movie pool hall junkies

Till I Collapse-Eminem
Dreams and Nightmares-Meek Mill
Showtime- Young Jeezy
I listen to these before every practice MCAT, the real MCAT, and big exams.

My pump up song is probably Surface by Aero Chord. The music I usually study to however is typically something like the Vitamin String Quartet.

I turned up Dreams Come True by Hall & Oates in the hotel while getting dressed for my first interview

Sent from my iPhone using SDN mobile

Studying:
Lindsey Stirling
Rick Ross
George Strait

*Obviously depends on mood

Pre-exam:
Tom Sawyer - Rush
Final Countdown - Europe
Lose Yourself - Eminem
Fancy - Reba McIntyre

Post-exam:
Shake It Off - T-Swift

*There are two types of men in the world: those that love listening to T-Swift, and liars.

My playlist during wrestling tournaments consisted of a lot of Metallica, Rage Against the Machine and Dave Matthews

I actually hate this kinda music for the most part lol, but there is the MCAT pump up song. Fondly remember blasting this on the freeway at 7 am with the windows down.

I'm really surprised nobody has said "Why Not" by Hillary Duff or "Getcha Head in the Game" from High School Musical... smh....
or Space Jam!

This would either get me extremely pumped for the MCAT, or make me want to throw on some air jordans and play basketball.
I played basketball the morning of my MCAT. You can definitely have your cake and eat it too.

i would have to say TI feat. Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne - Swagger Like Us

Dream Theater has pumped me up through this whole application cycle fam:
Binge listening to the Awake album throughout MCAT studying and during acceptance waiting stress
Playing Octavarium on repeat as I finished up and submitted my primary
Blasting A Change of Seasons before and after my first interview

gotta love those carpe diem themes
