there are zero real doctors that take pictures of themselves in scrubs and post it on facebook
Yes, but most attendings went into practice before Facebook became popular. I personally can't wait until I'm a resident.
Morning: Tweet a picture of my bowl of cereal for breakfast, caption-- "Lol, Doc's first br8kfast. Lol. #superexcitedimarealdoctor!
Take snapshots of me in my long white coat with a thumbs -up and a goofy smile and paste them into my Facebook page. Try different poses for best pic. Paste more photos into Facebook.
Walk to work-- check how many people "like" my pics.
First patient: Take video of my encounter, blurring the face, and changing voice of patient. Post on YouTube, entitled, "SilverCat, MD, FACS, cures patient."
Afternoon: Chat on Google with friends about how exhausted I am seeing so many patients in a day, making sure to repeatedly say doctor: "well, as a doctor," "being a doctor," " my free time's so limited as a doctor," "doctors are so under- appreciated" "you've no idea what it's like to be a doctor."
Evening: Blog about first day as a resident on page entitled, "Bumpy Ride to MD," or "Typical girl in Residency," or " Reflections on Residency." Something cutesy or kitschy.
Be sure to talk about how hard I work, but how rewarding the practice is as I gaze into the eyes of my elderly, blind, deaf, handicapped patient who thanks me with tears in his eyes.
Yes, it's a different world.
