Hey Guys,

So, applying to all these medical school is fairly expensive, and I looked into the FAP program. Is the program a strict cutoff? Because my parent's income is above the 300% 2010 poverty line, but not significantly. I was just wondering anyone has any feedback to see if it is even work it for me to submit all that paper work.

Also, are there any setbacks to applying to the FAP? Will your application somehow be "marked" with the fact that you used FAP?

Thanks!

are you employed? add your income + the income of your parents, and match that to how many people are in your family to the poverty line given on the table for the poverty line and you have your answer.

Its not really that much paper work, you just got to photocopy 1 or 2 forms and mail it in.

The program was not made to make things easy and cheap, but to remove a barrior for those who would find it impossible to apply.

My family made $900 this month. Considering rent, utilities, and everything for three people, there is no money to apply. I assume because of this that it is very strict as 25% of applicants are in a simular boat to me or at least meet the cutoff.

I see. Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if it was a strict cutoff or some sort of evaluation based on taxes.
