For those of you who own your own practice or have some say in it, how often do
you update your fee schedule?
Are there any indexes you use for your increases?
 
Increases? haha.

I think a rule of thumb is 2.5-3 X medicare. Variable though if you do alot of out of network, auto, lien etc...

i agree, if anything you need to lower it haha.

set it at 3x medicare and run with it...
 
why would I lower my fee schedule?
 
My fee schedule gets modified any time someone actually pays me 100% of my charges.
 
Joke dude. With reducing payments, it is unlikely we need to raise our charges. What are we trying to keep up with?
Many of our commercials pay us % of billed charges
 
Has anybody ever used a professional to try and negotiate with your payers? Any luck?
