Hi so i have searched the forums for some good reading material and found lots of good books to read etc.. But i want to know more.. I want to know everything there is to know about med-school, residency, and the practice of medicine in general, all the ins and outs..
I'm looking for specific works on individual fields such as topics in academic/research medicine, psychiatry, surgery, etc.. I'm not asking what they are, I just want a very detailed account of what various fields of medicine.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on more specific information on various fields of medicine? Sorry if i'm not being specific but hopefully someone knows what I mean..
Thanks

. And if you're criticizing my suggestions because they're fiction, except for Scrubs (I don't want to be a doc unless there's some truth to that show), some of the best explanations of medicine are fictional books. Ever heard of the House of God? Try that for internal medicine, although it's dated. Mount Misery is Samuel Shem's follow up which focuses on psychiatry. Intern Blues by Dr. Robert Marion is a great look at internship, Hot Lights Cold Steel for surgery by Dr. Michael Collins, and the making of a surgeon in the 21st century by Dr. Craig Miller. Lighten up.
