Should I re-take the MCAT?
I just interviewed at my top-choice SMP, it has a pretty decent linkage to its own med school, nothing official but they will interview anyone who keeps a certain GPA. I haven't heard back yet, but if I were to get an acceptance from the SMP should I try to raise my 29O? I know it wouldn't hurt just to have a higher score, but the timing isn't ideal, I would have to take it in like 3 weeks before I leave for an overseas volunteer program and then I would be in school (fingers crossed) almost as soon as I get back. Any suggestions?

I think the key is: have you been studying since you took it last? If you have to cram for the next one and you haven't really looked at the material in a while, you may risk lowering your score.

Depending on your GPA/other factors, a 29 may be just good enough to get you into your state school. Are you dead-set on the SMP?

I didn't get in to any med schools, and I have a 3.2c/3.4sci so my grades are definitely a factor for not getting in anywhere. Yes, I think for several reasons, which I won't go into, an SMP is the way to go for me.
