I guess I just want to vent out or read some advice. A few yrs ago I went through a pretty bad phase of anxiety/depression. I had to work nightshift last nite, so I didn't get any sleep for 24 hrs and when I finally went to sleep around 1pm and woke up at 6pm I woke up feeling anxious, scared and kind of depressed out of nothing which really freaked me out. I slept like 12 hrs last nite and am feeling a bit better, just kind of low and scared because I don't want to feel like I felt those yrs ago. I guess I
am just scared of getting sick again... :/

I'm sorry MexicanDr. When I get like that it sometimes can feel like I don't know when the down phase is going to end, but I try my best to be an optimist. What keeps my optimism going in those times is doing small improvements to my body and environment. Interacting with strangers helps me connect with reality and see myself more clearly in relation to the world. So this might help. What do you normally do to get happy?

everyone has down days, some just feel it more than others. winter is coming so in your off time, try to spend a couple days on yourself. Laze around and do something you enjoy.

Hope you feel better.

Hang in there bud.

The one thing we often forget about while drowning in our own workload is ourselves. Take time off to just sit around and do nothing. Relax a little, let loose, let your guard down. You have a lot going for you. Just hang in there.

As people like to say...maybe you should seek some professional help.

Seriously though, everybody has down days. Don't even bother try resisting it...just feel crappy for a while, it'll be good for you. Then when the time comes (maybe 2-3 days later), you'll bounce back and you can get back to the struggles of pursing medicine. That's all you can really do .

go hang out with your friends, talk to your family, play with your pet, etc. just don't be alone when you're feeling like that

Yea, I totally understand your feeling. But I agree with several of the posters, you've just got to ride out some of those bad days. Maybe during the bad days, try to figure what exactly it is that is making you feel a bit low. And if you can, just find someone to casually talk to about it.

But, hang in there! We all are riding this roller coaster together! One day we can all look back at this process and smile, realizing how far we have come!

Good luck!😀

Don't forget that we've already come very far, look at how much you've accomplished and will accomplish in the future.
