Can anyone help by telling me how competitive some of the internal med fellowships are. In particular I was curious about nephrology, ID, and pulmonary
Take a look at the fellowship FAQ at the top of the forum for some info on this.
In general, renal and pulmonary are considered to be moderately competitive compared with the other IM subspecialties. ID is among the less competitive. The top academic fellowship programs in all of these fields, however, tend to be extremely competitive, so it greatly depends on which types of programs you're thinking of.
