Hey everyone! Good luck to everyone applying...how many programs are you guys all applying to? And how hard is it to match? Any thoughts?

A couple of questions if you guys don't mind:
1. What are the typical stats to get matched? Any ideas? (I am a US IMG with decent Step scores...), number of research, etc.
2. What are the toughest programs generally to match in?

Look at the latest nrmp match data for stats…it’s pretty straightforward
They typical are the toughest… though some may vary…Mayo, the Harvard programs, UCLA, UW, NYU, Columbia…the places that have the powerhouse thought leaders in endocrine will be hard to get… look to see if they take US IMGs and if they don’t, probably won’t…doesn’t mean you can’t apply… but just don’t be surprised if you don’t get an invite.
FMGs are actually accepted at a higher rate than US IMGs… many PDs are FMGs , so they have a good idea of what those domiciled schools are like.

Thank you for your reply. I think there are more FMGs applying compared to US IMGs as well, maybe that's also a factor. But regardless, I just hope I have a chance. How many programs are you all applying to? On average?

For programs, do they roll out or send all invites out at once? I know the season just started...but typically when do programs send out the most invites?

Congrats! Do most programs send out invites all at once? Just wanted to know if it's too early to be getting concerned...I got 2 invites so far...but I did apply very broadly. I think from last year's spreadsheet it is mostly August, but not sure...anyone can shed some light?

It looked like UMass was doing rolling invites, they only offered 4 interview dates
No…that’s about how many interview dates they have.
Fellowship interviews are as extensive as residency ones… they generally don’t interview a huge number since the average endo program is about 3 fellows per year.
UMass is a 3:1…meaning one year is 3 fellows and the next is 1…they were looking to increase to 5 overall, so maybe 3:2 by now.

Interesting, I figured they’d at least interview into September (and offer corresponding dates) for flexibility
Okay. So we should still wait for invites into august right ? Hopefully next week will be better.
Did they send a confirmation of the interview date you selected? I didn't get a confirmation yet.

Yes, look at the list from last year. It’s the same few programs this year sending early invites. I’d be worried in 2 weeks if you have nothing but it’s still quite early based on last year. Some programs don’t even send invites until early September if you look at last year
