Does anyone here know about fellowship trained ent's in private practice? Obviously Im not talking about guys who did peds fellowship and now they're in private practice doing tubes, tonsils and adenoids, that's general ent in children. Im talking about "real" peds ent: cochlear implants and other ear stuff, airway, cleft palate, neck masses.
Some of the peds ent surgeries can only be done in a center with PICU, but aside from that, is there demand in the market for the stuff that doesn't require PICU? Or does it still get sent to large academic centers? Would be happy to get some general input about opportunities and average pay

Probably not too common. I know one Peds ent in PP in my city that does CIs, neck masses, sinus in addition to bread and butter. I don’t think she does advanced Peds airway recon, but she’ll do trachs and DLBs and some endoscopic stuff.

should be fairly doable though in any small to medium sized city. Big cities will all have academic centers, but the mid sized ones that don’t may have a potential market you could tap depending on how far the nearest big center is.

Pay probably comparable to general ent pp, maybe slightly less. Peds tends to pay much less overall because you can’t generate much revenue in office, and most of your surgeries don’t pay that much.

There is a group in my area that are all pediatric fellowship trained in a private practice group. Doing CIs, tymp/mast/ocr, airway work, clefts, essentially most things that you could think of.

May I ask which area? Don't worry bro lol Im not asking for a zip code/names or any personal information... You don't even have to give me the name of the place, Im ok with a "North Texas" type of answer
