When applying to MD/PhD, publications/posters/presentations are of course a big plus, but how about getting funded through fellowships etc? For instance, I applied to and was able to get fellowship money from the NIH last summer to fund my full time research at my university lab, and this summer I got a decent grant from my university department to work in the same lab. How are those summer experiences viewed as compared to summer research internships at different labs?

Does the amount of money make a difference? I got one for $500... also it was from my school’s research committee. Not from any national corporation
