For biology, everyone recommends using Feralis notes; however, every time I start studying from them I feel overwhelmed and feel like I do not know anything. Do you think I will be okay if I keep reading cliff notes, do destroyer and datqvault. Thanks

I didn't use Feralis notes. I got 10 pages through and decided it was too dense. I only used cliffs, destroyer, and some youtube videos and was completely fine.

I would read a chapter of Cliff's that corresponds to the chapter in the notes first. Then read the notes and it should make more sense. It's very condensed so reading it without any prior foundation will probably be very confusing.

Feralis made great "Notes". I do like he suggests, read cliffs, then, re-read his notes, taking flash cards of things I dont feel 100% on. Then after doing 100 flash cards per day I keep the ones I get wrong in separate boxes still marked by chapter. If I get it wrong after going through the notecard again I google the principle, read the section in cliffs and feralis notes, then add the card back to my first time through pile. Works for me for learning it all. The key is really getting the principles down and exposure to everything a lot.

I usually read a section in Cliffs, and then recap by going over the notes.

If there's a particular topic that you're not grasping, try YouTube for further clarification. 🙂

His notes are amazing. Yes, it may be detailed but the fact that you can just read like 1 page of notes which is equivalent to 7 pages of Cliff's is the reason why I use his.

You don't use his notes and read every single detail because I don't. You skim it and find the main concept. He may have a whole section about fertilization, but you just need to know some of the important key concepts. Forming a zygote, where fertilization take place, what kind of reaction sperm gives out, sperm or egg supplies the nucleus/cytoplasm to zygote, and etc. Rather than focusing on the details, because the DAT won't ask you super specific question. You might think it is specific, but if you have a general knowledge of biology then you should be able to quickly find your answer.

For example, you might want to trace a DNA from a bacteria. That sounds random, right? If you know the parts of DNA, which consists of a phosphate group. Then you can quickly find phosphate isotope. There might be two phosphate isotopes, but you can use chemistry knowledge to find which one is radioactive.

Just my two cents but after using feralis's notes I scored an average of 28 on Qvault bio, a 30 on the BC bio, and was getting roughly 35 questions right per 40 questions in destroyer for the first run through. But I would not recommend just reading through them passively but actually studying them. It helps if you have time but I only tackled like 2.5 pages per day and really made sure to soak in everything. Like everyone says, the notes have all (if not 90%) of the answers.

I'm one of those who don't believe cliffs is sufficient but I haven't taken the real DAT yet so I might not be as accurate. Just speculations based on practice tests. I'd rather aim for a 30 than a 20!

When do you take your test?

Guess my identities out haha. That was the account I made before I realized no one uses their names. Forgot to log off my phone with it.

But thanks! And if you haven't taken yours yet good luck also!

Exactly why did you bump this 2 year old thread up?

Fine example of stealth advertising right here. Another old DATBootcamp related thread that's bumped up for advertising purposes, and it's been going on for years now. Reported.

What if you made that "MeghanK" account to necrobump, and then logged onto your "Orka" account to claim stealth advertising, as a part of your elaborate counter-marketing plot?

See how pointless mental gymnastics is?

I'm confused. Aren't Feralis notes free of charge and open for download, regardless of the source? There are countless posts regarding these notes on this forum anyway. And several DAT resources were discussed here, however you tend to direct your concerns toward a specific resource throughout multiple threads which is odd. In addition, Feralis Notes were recently removed off of Bootcamp's site, supposedly to be updated. Maybe that was the reason for the bump of this thread? The user may have been searching for the notes online? I have personally been hoping for an updated version of the notes anyway, so this user is likely not be the only one looking for the notes.

There is no need to presume someone as guilty for stealth advertising, and immediately report them for it. Context is important as well.

Mods can check my IP address and compare. More importantly, staff members and mods have confirmed DAT prep companies have been "stealth advertising": READ FIRST: Discussion of DAT test prep materials. Unfortunately, DATBootcamp and DATDestroyer are literally the only 2 companies talked about on these forums. And it's funny how all these "accounts" are quick to defend DATBootcamp... It's common sense what's going on.

Stop defending a bump, any form of bumping is against the rules of SDN. All these accounts (including yourself) posting to defend Feralis Notes affiliated with DATbootcamp is shady.

After reading through the SDN rules you noted in your response, I understand your concern for unnecessary bumps for potential stealth advertising. I simply thought it was a bit unfair to accuse someone who may sincerely have reason to comment on previous threads, or may simply not know these particular rules (including myself), and choose to report them without full context. Thank you for passing these rules along, and I hope you understand my point of view as well.
