My test test is on July 18 so I'm in the home stretch. I feel fairly confident about the PAT and Math sections, always score above 20 on CDP and get most of Math Destroyer questions right. I bought the 5 test Achiever version but was scared to attempt them until yesterday because of how hard I've heard they are. I took just the natural sciences test yesterday and scored a Bio: 15 Gen Chem: 18 Orgo: 17 TS: 17
My understanding is that the 18 and 17 could likely correspond to a 20+ on the real test which I'm aiming for, but I'm a little worried about the bio.
I'm most confident in Orgo at the time being, and feel really good about certain parts of Bio like genetics but not so much others such as endrocrinology/hormones. I never took an endocrinology class in college, so I've just used Cliff AP Bio and KBB and Destroyer to try and learn, but it seems like so many hormones its hard to not feel overwhelmed. Do you think it would be sufficient to memorize the hormone table on page 202 of Cliff's AP, or is that too shallow of an understanding?
Also, for gen chem I'm having a little trouble understanding normality and molarity and how they are related, could someone help explain it to me? The following question was in Achiever and an explanation would be helpful, "Determine the normality and molarity of a 100.0 mL H2SO4 solution that requires 75.0 mL of 0.5000 N KOH for complete neutralization."
Finally, I haven't really studied for reading comprehension, which is something that maybe I should devote a little bit of time to. Is there really a strategy to use? I was planning on just reading the passages, taking notes with keywords associated with paragraphs in the passages, and then answering the questions. I've also heard of people just going straight to the questions and finding the answers in the passages from there? What would you guys suggest? Thanks for any advice in advance.
