I am working on the Cornell Secondary, which is a generic one for MD-only and MSTP. Do we answer the question about "why" we want to attend with the MSTP in mind, or just answer it as if we are applying MD? In other words, should we emphasize interest in the research opps available there more so or less so?
In general, if you get a MD-only secondary, what should you do in terms of "why" essays?

Thanks!

I always incorporated research into my MD only essays, but see what other people say

For MD-only essays, some mentioning of research could be beneficial, but it shouldn't be the main focus, nor should you emphasize your status as an MSTP applicant. There are people in power who don't believe in the double-degree thing, and you are sure to encounter them more frequently on the MD-only than the MSTP committee.
