Just a thought:

How many acceptances do you think are offered to fill up a class of about 150 when its all said and done?

Depends on the school. Some like Drexel offer acceptances to over 450 to fill 200 spots. Others don't because people jump on the opportunity to go. Go look at the US News and World Report Ultimate Guide to Medical Schools for numbers.

I would guess that a school may send 300 or so, but I agree that you can find the specifics on the school that you're thinking of in the USNews book.

I would have hated to apply in 1994.

Yeah, is it ironic that the number of applicants is decreasing?

economy was not that great right when clinton took over-1993. Thus probably more people going to grad programs. IN late 90's you ahve the stock market boom and thus less people apply since there is $$$ to be made immediateley after college. And now again, since Bush ahs been in office the economy has been pretty crappy (but I wont blame him since the bubble burst during the end of clinton's term) and thus there is that slight increase in med school applicants.

Does anyone think there will be a shortage of doctors as the baby boomers hit their 60's??

They're forecasting a shortage of doctors. Anybody object to being in higher demand? 😀

ON average, other than the top tier (ivy league), most schools offer nearly double the acceptances as seats.

GOBUCKY!
