so did i, so should we believe that our assessment score is consistent with the new change?
I don't think so. I think our scores are still, somewhat, over predicted. I don't think my 76% would translate in 244 with the scale.
can anyone with a recent update score report, reveal their % and appropriate 3 digit score? or i guess it says itll be updated tomorrow

UWSA1 = 87.25% = 269 (originally 251 before the change)
UWSA2 = 89.00% = 262
I assume the updated scale was released today, but the software still says to check back on May 26, so I guess there is a chance that it changes again tomorrow.

im just confused then, im at 84% but itook it 1 day before the changes, so not sure what to correlate that with.

I guess they changed the question number and forgot to change their score formula? I took both in the last 10 days and they've changed: UWSA1 230 => 249 and UWSA2 234 => 245. Seems like they've decided UWSA2 is easier so higher average equates to lower score. Why do they mess with my emotions so with 24 hrs until the real thing

I was trying to figure out why my score went up, I thought I was going crazy!
On UWSA1 I scored 73.5%...went from a 224 to a 245. On UWSA2 I scored a 71.5%...went from a 219 to a 232
Not sure how I am supposed to feel about my scores now. my goal is a 230....am I in the right place in terms of % correct? I've got 3 weeks till test day.

I'd let an NBME guide you. I still don't trust my 20 point jump.

I went from a 230 to a 249. Is this a score I can take seriously? I was shocked I got a 230 at first (since it's lower than what I have been getting on NBMEs), and then a 249 is the highest I've ever gotten so I hope it's indicative of progress....
this is highly annoying, especially for those that took it before the question change, did anybody who took the 44q format contact UW and ask them if theres anything they can do?
I think the people who took it before the switch to 40 questions (myself included) shouldn't have to worry about the score switches. Our scoring was accurate for what UWorld has been doing. The scores messed up after they switched to the 40 questions assessment. Now they have readjusted the scoring to match the scoring from pre-40 questions.
Took the 40 question format UWSA1 today. 75% correct for a 247. Kind of felt like generous scoring for only a 75%, but the questions were pretty rough. UWorld said the average score on those blocks would be a 61.5%. 12 days out still, hoping I can match this score on the real thing but I've got doubts lol the burnout is real.
My UWSA1 score on Thursday was 22 points higher than my NBME 15 score on Tuesday. I would believe a little bit better because it felt like it was going better, but it seems like a stretch to think I got 22 points smarter in under 48 hours.

Completely agree. Maybe UWSA2 just hit my weak points, but I felt like it was much more difficult than UWSA1.
To follow up, I just took NMBE 18 and received a 234. If only UWSA1 was correct...
Took UWSA1 today:

UWSA is not and will never be a good predictor of your score. Just use it as another learning resource.
I felt this way too. I took UWSA1 shortly after finishing my first pass through U World and got something like 91% on it. It seemed to be very familiar questions. While the score made me feel (temporarily) pretty good about things, I can guarantee that won't be my score on the Real Deal.
I think the value of it is that it's even more practice questions and they give you the answer explanations. It's so time consuming to look up the answers to what I missed on the NBMEs!!
A lot of my friends took UWSA1 before starting dedicated to get a baseline score without "wasting" an NBME, then took UWSA2 at the end of dedicated. If this is a widespread practice, I wonder if the additional study time could explain the discrepancy in averages rather than a difference in difficulty?
Yep, I think so. I've taken 2 NBME's and got in the 220's. And my UWSA1 score was 249.
I plan to take UWSA2 tomorrow but don't plan to pay much mind to my score.
I took 18 today and got the exact same score as I did on 17, and both were 11 points lower than UWSA1 (score, not percent).
Slightly discouraged by the lack of improvement between NBMEs with two additional weeks of study, but I felt like 18 was a lot more challenging. I had a lot of WTF are they going for here moments.
I plan to take UWSA2 as my last self assessment next week. I'm interested to see how it compares based on comments here.
My UWSA 1 was 9 points higher than 2 and I took them just 4 days apart in that order.
Someone earlier suggested people may be taking UWSA1 earlier in prep than 2 and thats affecting the curve, I think that may be right....or I got dumber in the last 4 days :/

Update for those interested: I took UWSA2 today and got the same percent right (91.5) but 9 points lower in 3 digit score than UWSA1. I felt its difficulty was comparable.
The 3 digit score was very similar to what I got on the last 2 NBMEs I took, so I'm crossing fingers that they're predictive of my real score. The wait until July 13th will be torture!
To follow up my follow up, two weeks after taking UWSA 1 I took 2 and got a 256. I'm not sure if I should interpret this as:
a) harsher curve for 2
b) a wide SD between these tests
c) I only get 1 point smarter each week
d) all of the above.
In any event, I'm close to my goal so if UWSA2 is accurate I'm happy.

I feel the same way. I took UWSA 1 on May 29th, before starting UW and got a 222, which was an average of 62 percent. Then I took nbme 11 offline and got 232. Did maybe less than half of UW and a series of several nbmes after that, over a span of 2 weeks. Nbme 12 245, 13 249, 15 256, 16 252, 17 262. 17 was on Tuesday. I took UWSA 2 yesterday and got 78/83/78/88=249. Not sure how to interpret this. Found questions on the nbmes to be much easier/straightforward as compared to UW questions, and UWSA just felt like I was just doing a set of 4 UW blocks. Test in 10 days, and aim is 250 plus, hopefully 260.

Hi, thanks, I hope the upward trend sustains itself. I didn't actually finish UW. But my average till date is 79 percent. I actually did a qbank called Board Vitals before taking UWSA1. So I was already into the rhythm of doing questions. Also, earlier I watched videos by Boards and Beyond and annotated them into FA.
I review each nbme after I take it. And I read about a topic if I get it wrong and try to make sure I have the core understanding behind it. And on days I don't take nbme, I do 3 random timed blocks UW to keep up stamina. Also, I realized on uwsa 1 that I kept narrowing to 2 answers and choosing the correct one first, then changing it and getting it wrong. So now I stick with my gut. I think that having a strong knowledge base is important. Like your basics should be so sound that you can figure out anything thrown at you. With each nbme, it felt like I was guessing on half the questions, but somehow my reasoned out educational guesses ended up being correct. I also read a lot of Quizlet sets, I think I'm a bit addicted to that website. Hope this helps!

About the second guessing, i feel its partly cause World goes out of the way to trick us, but the NBME doesn't.
Going to take my first NBME of dedicated in 10 days, fingers crossed!
I thought the questions were good to learn from and were similar to the actual exam. Predictive value though? I took this right after taking NBME 16 (264 and my highest score) and the UWSA1 predicted a 271...
I can tell you based on the number of dumb mistakes I made on that and my lack of focus after seeing my NBME score before taking the self assessment, there is no way that my score was a 271. Probably more in the 250's, if that.
At the end of the day though, it was more practice questions with good explanations to learn from so it was worth it to me.
