Hey everyone,

I have finally decided on the list of schools I want to apply to. Here they are:

Medical College of Georgia, Boston U, New York U, U of North Carolina, Columbia, U Pennsylvania, U Connecticut, U of Louisville, Nova, Temple, Tufts.

That’s my list and I was wondering with my states of an overall GPA of a 3.92 is this list appropriate. I have taken so far 76 hrs not including this semester and plan to graduate summer 06. I will be taking my DAT by the end of May (what will be a competitive score with my GPA). Is there anything I should know about any of these schools that may help or hinder me in the application process?

Thank you all for any help.

With todays trends you want to score a 20+. However you have a strong GPA and may be able to gain a few acceptances with an 18 or 19 on the DAT. You have a wide variety of schools selected and I cant seem to see any pattern. Did you just pick schools located in cities where youd like to live? Do a few searches on SDN and you will find a ton of info on the various schools.

cowsgomoo I hope you live in GA because if not you're throwing money out the window applying to MCG. Other than that, list looks good to me.

If you are graduating in the summer, be sure to pick a school that doesn't start earlier on in the summer...I'm not familiar with the schedules for any of the schools on your list, but you might want to check.

Ohh ok so some schools do start in the summer. I will have to check that out. Yeah and I do live in GA. Half of the schools I picked on ease of getting in and the rest were schools I would like to attend. MCG is my number one choice so really I hope I get it in there. I also picked school based on how many out of state students are accepted. do schools usually list class schedules on there website to see when they start?

With a 3.92 and good DAT scores (you seem like a person that will put in the time to study for and do well on the DAT) you'll stand a very good chance at a lot of the schools on your list. I believe that a competitive score is anything 20+ (AA/Sci). If you do end up with a good set of DAT scores I would cross off about three or four schools from your list and focusing on the ones that you are really serious about. Why? Because you'll just be spending lots of money in the long run. Best of luck!
