Since I just got finished with the DAT, just thought I'd post how I did, hoping that someone will find it useful.

TopScore
Test 1: Bio 19, G Chem 19, O Chem 17, RC 21, QR 19, PAT 20
Test 2: Bio 20, G Chem 18, O Chem 23, RC 23, QR 19, PAT 22
Test 3: Bio 20, G Chem 17, O Chem 23, RC 23, QR 21, PAT 22

whoa, writing that down I just noticed how similar tests 2 and 3 were. . . hmmm, anyway

The REAL DEAL
Bio 26 😍 , G Chem 21, O Chem 22, RC 21, QR 19, PAT 19
AA 22 TS 23 😍

So I am pleased (duh), I think I could have performed better in the PAT and QR since my bladder almost exploded in each of those and I had to take time out of the test for that and couldnt double check as much as I normally do 🙄

I'm a Bio major and I suppose that accounts for that score, even though I had to make logical guesses for quite a few for some terms I hadn't heard of. The PAT was harder than the practices, and I would say that one of my best sections on it I performed terribly on and one of my worst seemed pretty easy so go figure. If anyone has any questions just let me know, hopefully I can help some of you out as I have been helped. Thanks SDN'ers!

p.s. when its over, life is a gazillion times better 👍

congratulations on the scores! I am taking it soon...could you tell me exactly how you studied for the bio, chem, and organic portions? Do you think the kaplan material is sufficient for material and then to use topscore to review and check knowledge? And was there anything on there that wasn't covered on Kaplan? thanks! clemontigers

for Bio, I mainly used the kaplan book, but for the stuff that it was lacking I looked through my bio textbook for that ecology stuff and also used the cd that came with it for some flash tutorials over things I wasnt getting out of kaplan like the Krebs cycles, oxidative phosphorylation. Gen Chem I mostly used kaplan and tried working and reworking the problems in the practice tests I had until I could get them right. O chem I didnt study that much actually, it was always my highest score in the practice tests so I didnt stress it too much. Kaplan is prolly sufficient but I did study my old class notes for O Chem 1 and 2, probably more emphasis on the first half.

I'm still so giddy from the DAT that I keep looking at the printout paper to look at the scores, so glad its over and that I can finally devote some free time to something else 😍

WOW! great job! you scored so much higher on the real thing in comparison to your topscore!! did you study a lot after the practice tests? And did you use acheiver at all?

what I did was take a practice test once a week or so and then study the things that I felt needed the most work and then took another test etc. etc. I also retook some stuff to further master it. I didnt have DAT achiever but I suppose it would have helped some but oh well 😉

best of luck everyone

hey

good job... i was wondering how u studied for math (books and such) and for how long.

Thanks alot....

about the math, basically I started hardcore studying the end of april and the math I fit in anytime I was sick of the other stuff. I mostly used kaplans stuff but I think its the practice problems you work on is what helps the most. I really wish I could have performed better on it but to be honest, I thought I was gonna pee my pants 🙄 so as soon as I clicked in the last answer, time expired. I had heard before that the trig wasnt too involved so i didnt prepare that much for it, but in hindsight its probably one of those things that if I had sat down and worked them until I understood them but oh well.

Excellent scores apaul---your bio is out of this world! (And I know what you mean about the rechecking the print out a million times to see if its real...I did the same thing!) Congratulations on a job well done!!!
