I have a question for non-trad.

I think I am going to be doing full-time postback to raise my gpa
but I don't have any money in my bank
and I definitely don't want to get any support from my parents
and I won't be living with my parents
so I need to get loan.

What kind of loans are available for post-bac?

Can anyone give me specific information?

My school calls me a 5th year non-degree-seeking postbaccalaureate. As an admitted student, I'm as eligible as anybody for aid. Which means I get need-based grants, loans, etc. If you spent your Pell grant quota already in undergrad, you're probably not eligible anymore. Are they still called Pell grants?

Get accepted someplace officially for postbac, and see their financial aid office. You'll need to file the FAFSA, I think by February.

I should mention I had to take classes as a nonmatriculated student (no aid) in order to get accepted at my school, since it's huge and overcrowded. I needed a faculty recommendation from within the school.

Good luck to you.

I was able to get a stafford loan and I got the remainder of the money that I needed from a private consumer education loan. Im sure most banks have similar loans. Beware: you may be required to provide a cosigner for the loan, and the rates can be pretty steep (6-9%).
